Nikki White runs The Heart Of, a company that helps entrepreneurs take on small business challenges. White, an efficiency expert, was recently named the winner of the 5 Grand Helping Hand Competition, which honors business owners who submit an excellent tip for other entrepreneurs in 100 words or less.
"Procedures are the tasks that you conduct every day in your business without thinking about them; to get a great procedures manual, all you need to do is identify these tasks, record them and review them to make sure they are the most efficient they can be," White wrote in her winning tip. "Having procedures in your business allows you to have more time and manage your staff more efficiently."
In addition to The Heart Of, White has provided small business advice to struggling company owners through her information product, titled ProcedureAssist. This useful tool offers a procedures manual template, which can help low income business owners set up necessary procedures as easily as possible.
The 5 Grand Helping Competition is run by Suncorp Bank Australia. The panel judges for the competition include Suncorp Bank CEO David Foster, Founder of Flying Solo Robert Gerrish, and Simone-Lee Givney, Events Manager for Gerrish and Quest Newspapers.
